Faith Formation students connect with seniors

Our Adopt-A-Grandparent program began in 2015.  Parish Social Ministry hand-selects seniors in our community who are homebound or in need of some interaction with others and pairs them with Faith Formation classes.  Throughout the year, the Faith Formation students write letters to their 'grandparents', sends pictures, makes crafts and visits them during Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter holidays.  These visits are especially important as it helps to build the relationship between the students and 'grandparents'.  The program ends with a special 'Celebration of Life' Mass and Reception where the adopted 'grandparents' and seniors are honored.  Cookies and treats are donated by the classes.
